Independent frames and eyewear for the whole family
Our optical collection focuses on independent frame brands, children’s eyewear, prescription glasses, and prescription sunglasses. We’ll help you choose frames and lenses that work well with your prescription, visual needs, comfort, style, and everyday life.
Some of the independent and specialty frame brands we currently carry include Modo, Dandy, Downtown Studio, Lowercase, RAEN, EyeFunc, Smilen, Dilli Dalli, and Tomato. Our selection changes over time as new collections arrive.
Prescription-lens options
Depending on your prescription and how you use your glasses, options may include single-vision or progressive lenses, thinner high-index materials for stronger prescriptions, photochromic lenses such as Transitions, polarized prescription sunglasses, sports eyewear such as Rec Specs, and safety or other specialty lenses. Blue-light-filtering options are also available. They are not needed to protect the macula from normal screen use, but for people working on screens or under bright artificial light after sundown, reducing blue-light exposure in the evening may help support normal circadian rhythms and sleep.

Your prescription is yours
When a refraction is performed, we provide your eyeglass prescription and can email it to you. You never have to purchase eyewear from Park Slope Eye to receive your prescription, and there is no extra fee to release it. We do hope you’ll give us a chance to help with your glasses. We’re often very competitive on price, and we’d be happy to help you compare frame and lens options before you decide.
Turnaround, shipping, adjustments, and repairs
Many prescription eyewear orders are ready in about 3 to 5 business days. More specialized prescriptions, lens designs, laboratory work, or product availability can sometimes take longer. Direct shipping may also be available when appropriate.
For glasses purchased from Park Slope Eye, basic frame adjustments are available for the life of the eyewear. We can handle many minor adjustments right in the office, while more complicated repairs may need to be sent to a lab.
We’re also happy to make minor adjustments to glasses purchased elsewhere. Because we don’t know the age, materials, condition, or history of frames we didn’t supply, we can’t guarantee against breakage when adjusting them.
Payment, remakes, returns, and warranties
Prescription glasses must be paid in full before lab work begins. We accept cards, tap-to-pay, HSA, and FSA payment methods.
Frames purchased from Park Slope Eye are refundable, while custom prescription lenses generally are not. If a lens type doesn’t work well for you, we generally can remake the lenses into another appropriate option and refund any applicable price difference. Remakes for prescription or adaptation issues are typically available within about 30 days.
Most prescription lenses include a one-year warranty, and some upgraded anti-reflective lens options include a two-year warranty. Coverage depends on the specific lens product, and we’re happy to confirm the warranty when you order.
