This Website Privacy Policy applies to the public website operated by Park Slope Eye Optometric PLLC, doing business as Park Slope Eye, at 682 Union Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215. It describes information associated with use of this website. It is separate from Park Slope Eye’s HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which governs protected health information handled by the practice.

Information this website may receive

When you visit the website, ordinary web-server and security systems may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser or device type, requested pages, referring page, and the date and time of a request. This information may be processed by our hosting, security, and infrastructure providers to deliver the site, maintain reliability, investigate errors, and protect the website from abuse.

The website does not currently provide an on-site patient portal or a custom medical-history, symptom, or appointment-request form. If you choose to email Park Slope Eye, the information in your email is transmitted through your email service and received through the practice’s email systems rather than through an on-site web form.

Appointment booking and other third-party services

Online appointment booking is provided through an external scheduling service. When you select a booking link, you leave the Park Slope Eye website and interact with that service under its own privacy and security practices. Information you provide while scheduling may include information related to health care and should be handled through the approved scheduling workflow rather than through a general website form.

The website also links to services such as Google Maps and Park Slope Eye’s Google Business Profile. The site’s Fraunces and Inter web fonts are served as local website assets rather than requested by your browser from Google Fonts. When you choose to follow a link to an external service, that service may receive technical information associated with the request according to its own policies.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising trackers

As currently configured, the custom Park Slope Eye website does not intentionally deploy advertising pixels or behavioral-advertising trackers and does not use an on-site account or patient-portal login.

Park Slope Eye uses Cloudflare for website delivery, security, Web Analytics, and a narrowly scoped first-party measurement endpoint. That endpoint records only aggregate event categories such as selecting the booking link, email link, contact-lens reorder link, or directions link, plus whether an inbound visit is identifiable as a referral from ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity. The browser checks an explicit ChatGPT source tag or an observed Gemini/Perplexity referring origin and sends only the provider category; it does not send the referring URL. A temporary, per-tab browser flag avoids counting the same provider repeatedly and is not a unique identifier. These signals do not identify every AI-assisted visit. The measurement dataset is intentionally designed not to store names, email addresses, free-text messages, health details, full URLs or query strings, page paths, user-agent strings, IP addresses, cookies, or persistent user identifiers. These aggregate measurements are used to understand website usage and improve patient pathways, not for advertising or remarketing.

Browsers that send Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals are excluded from this custom event measurement. Any future analytics or tracking implementation that materially expands what is collected or how it is used must be reviewed for privacy and health-information implications before deployment, and this policy should be updated when needed.

Protected health information

Information that Park Slope Eye creates, receives, maintains, or transmits in its role as a health care provider may be protected by federal or state health-privacy requirements. Those practices and patient rights are addressed in Park Slope Eye’s separate HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. This Website Privacy Policy is not a substitute for that notice.

How information may be used or shared

Website-related technical information may be used as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the website. It may be processed by service providers performing those functions on Park Slope Eye’s behalf or disclosed when required by law. Park Slope Eye does not publish a promise that no information is ever processed by third parties because hosting, security, email, scheduling, and linked external services necessarily involve separate systems.

Data security

Park Slope Eye uses reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the website and its systems. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so sensitive patient information should be handled through practice-approved workflows rather than entered into an unapproved public-web channel.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended to provide information about the practice and eye care. It is not designed as a service for children to create accounts or independently submit personal information through the website.

Changes to this policy

Park Slope Eye may update this policy when the website, its service providers, or applicable requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when a material revision is published.
