Blake at Park Slope Eye

Patient support

Blake — Office Manager

Blake grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended Harding University. At Park Slope Eye, he helps keep the in-office experience running smoothly and makes sure patients feel taken care of from the moment they walk in.

Outside the office, Blake is usually following sports or unwinding with video games.

Derek Lin, OD at Park Slope Eye

Optometrist

Derek Lin, OD

Dr. Derek Lin joined Park Slope Eye in 2022 and is a practicing optometrist. He grew up in Huntington, Long Island, studied at NYU, and went on to SUNY College of Optometry. His clinical interests include contact lenses, myopia management, and general optometry.

When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Lin enjoys hiking and competes in recurve archery. Dr. Lin can conduct eye exams in Spanish and Mandarin.

Aaron — Remote Patient Support

Aaron grew up in Dallas and studied at Southern Methodist University and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Longtime patients may remember Aaron from his years in the office. He now supports patients remotely and helps keep things moving behind the scenes.

Outside work, Aaron is all about design and creativity—especially candles and home-goods design—and hanging out with his two pups. He is also a classically trained saxophonist and, in a former life, performed with fire and even ate fire. His unexpected kryptonite: kites.

Justin Bazan, OD at Park Slope Eye

Founder, owner & optometrist

Justin Bazan, OD

Dr. Bazan founded Park Slope Eye in 2008, remains the owner, and continues to practice as an optometrist.

Justin grew up in Utica, New York, attended Trinity University, and later trained at SUNY College of Optometry. Outside eye care, he loves global adventures. One of the biggest: thru-hiking the entire Appalachian Trail from end to end.
